In her own words
A cute illustration of a little dog

I'm a curious girl who loves following my favorite humans around. I'm happy to stay quietly by your side, keep you company, and be part of whatever you're doing. I love little neighborhood adventures and walks where I can sniff every interesting thing β€” and once I feel at home, I'll show you my playful side and tear around the living room.

I do best in a calm home. I'm sweet and affectionate, but I also like having my boundaries respected when things feel overwhelming. Patience and a gentle approach go a long way with me.

My story started on the side of a road, hiding under bushes, so my early life is a mystery. In just a few weeks with my foster family I've gone from scared and guarded to seeking out affection and curiosity. I'm still unfolding β€” but every day my personality shines a little more.

If you're looking for a quiet, loyal companion who'll warm up to you in her own sweet time, I might just be your girl.

β€” Bird
The honest part

Is your home Bird's home?

Bird is a gem, and like a lot of once-frightened dogs she comes with a short, honest list. Reading it isn't a hurdle β€” it's how we find the home where she'll truly relax for good.

She'll flourish with

  • Adults, or a home with teens 16 and up
  • People who let her set the pace and warm up on her own clock
  • A calm, predictable daily rhythm
  • Respectful dog siblings β€” she coexists easily and plays when invited
  • Someone who'd enjoy a loyal shadow on neighborhood walks

Not the right fit if

  • There are young children in the home
  • The household is loud, busy, or always in motion
  • You're hoping for an instantly cuddly dog on day one
  • No one's around for most of the day

Full transparency: Bird had a rough start and a failed first adoption that included a nip and a 10-day quarantine. With a patient foster and time to decompress, she's blossomed into the affectionate, playful girl you see here. She does best with people who read her signals and give her space when she asks for it. We share this openly because the right match keeps her safe and happy for life.

A full vet workup, all clear

One of the biggest worries with an adult dog of unknown age is hidden medical cost. Bird takes that worry off the table. In mid-May 2026 she had a thorough veterinary exam with full diagnostics β€” and everything came back normal.

Complete records are available to serious applicants on request.
